Deactivate a device
If you've acquired a used device, it may be registered to the previous owner's account, or you may have created a new account and want to move the device to that account from an older account, or you may wish to deactivate the device in order to give or sell it to someone else.
If you want to deactivate a device from your own account, and you know your login credentials, it's easiest to log in, select the menu item "MY CHUMBY"=>"my chumbys", select the device from the popup menu< and hit the "delete" link.
To deregister the device using this page, enter the information about the device below, and we'll deregister it. Once that's done, reboot the device, and it should prompt to be registered to another account.
Note that most of the previous user's settings, such as music settings and alarms, will be cleared when you register the device to the new account. If you are transferring this device to another person, we also recommend performing a "restore factory settings" to clear any other remaining information.
If you're having problems, please contact us at customer support and we'll try to help. Please provide as much information as you can to help us identify the device so we can find it in the database. If you can, include a photo of the ID screen.
NOTE: The ID consists of the numbers "0" through "9" and the letters "A" through "F". Be sure to check the difference between the number "8" and the letter "B", and be sure to use the number "0" (zero) not the letter "O". The ID is in five groups with (8 digits)-(4 digits)-(4 digits)-(4 digits)-(12 digits).

You can find this information on your chumby device.
On the
chumby Classic
, chumby one, and Insignia Infocast 3.5", open the Control Panel, hit "SETTINGS" then "CHUMBY INFO" - the chumby ID is on the top line ("id:"),
and the chumby name is on the fourth line ("chumby name:").
On the chumby 8, open the Control Panel, hit "Exit", then the "gear" icon, then "Device Info".
The chumby name is the second line ("DEVICE NAME:") and the chumby id is the last line ("ID #:").
On the Insignia Infocast 8", open the Control Panel, navigate to the screen with the color menus on the left, and tap the "Insignia" logo.
The chumby name will be the third line ("device name:") and the chumby id will be the eighth line ("ID:") in the dialog box.
On the Sony dash, tap the top button get raise the menu bar, tap "MENU", then "Settings", then "Device Info". The chumby name will be the second line ("Device Name:"),
and the chumby id will be first line ("ID:").
