Click the widget to enable audio if the widget uses it. Note that modern browser security may prevent the widget from loading content from other web sites, however the widget should be able to load properly on the chumby devices. These previews are possible through the use of Ruffle ‐ note that Ruffle is still a work in progress, and not all Flash features are implemented, so some widgets may not perform optimally.

Bluesmeone Rest assured the app does work, at least on the 3.5" chumby that I have and never gives me any problems. Keep trying!

It is probably my fault but I cannot get youstreams to work. I bought Chumby 8 mainly as Internet radio and I am very disappointed since I live outside the US and the device is practically useless in Europe. Youstreams seems to offer at least some sort of solution to the problem. I have done exactly was is asked for, I have downloaded the script to a USB stick, put this in the USB slot an started the device again (using every method - power off/on, cutting the power line and using restart by pressing th escreen while turning it on) and then tried to restart the widget with help etc - my code being evy-232 (where by the way? On the Chumby the folder where I put the widget is always empty and on my PC I am told the script is not installed). I know I am confused but can you help me?

I just got a chumbyone and I must admit it is quite disappointing as an Internet radio. This widget mitigates that problem somewhat. Thank you.

@timothycoghlan, and anyone having this problem: please remove all non-working streams from youstreams.appspot.com. The Chumby can become very busy trying (in vain) to fetch and parse playlist-data from non-working streams.

You streams is not stable anymore, after listening to a podcast, my Chumby classic does not respond anymore. Every time I need to reboot. I don't know was it the Chumby OS Update or the Latest You Streams version that causes this behavior. Till its fixed, better avoid You Streams.

Webpage-update for http://youstreams.appspot.com : #1# My Streams-support : You can now download a file that contains all your radio-stations in a format that's suitable for Chumby's inbuilt Internet-Radio function My Streams (in Control-Panel/Music). Log into http://youstreams.appspot.com with your YouStreams-ID, press the download-button, and save the file url_streams somewhere on your PC. You can then transfer it to your Chumby (using WinSCP e.g.) to the directory /psp. You should open the file first with a text-editor (e.g. windows wordpad or emacs): it contains some additional info at the top. Just try it ! #2# Copy / Merge to another Chumby : If you have a second chumby you can now copy over all Podcast- and Radio-Categories from one Chumby to the other. Please note that this operation only adds whole Categories with Podcasts or RadioStations - it does not alter any existing Categories or Stations, even if the names of existing entries are identical to those that are to be added. So you may first like to make some room on the "destination-Chumby" by deleting entries. #3# Bugfix : Direct-MP3-Streams should now be included in the search.

At the moment, you may encounter some problems on youstreams.appspot.com and won't be able to edit your streams, because google's appengine is in read-only mode. Latest info on http://code.google.com/status/appengine

Update: Widget "remembers" last Radio-Category, -Station and the Start-Value of the Sleep-Timer. For the Adventurous: create a widget-channel named "yswakeup" and put YouStreams inside. Then define an Alarm (in the control-panel) and chose "Play yswakeup" in the "Set action after alarm"-screen.

The YouStreams-Widget is not compatible with the DASH, you should not even see it in the widget-gallery. This has nothing to do with "service agreements/rights issues" but is of technical nature. It's because YouStreams requires an additional helper-script to be installed, which cannot be installed on a DASH (because - according to some forum-postings of "leading chumby gurus" - the DASH is a closed system).

BUG in latest version: While playing Radio or a Podcast YouStreams may accidentally return to its Entry-Screen, and then get cycled away by the next widget. SORRY FOR THIS! I'll try to fix this a.s.a.p.

Fantastic widget - looks great and works well - minor recomendation (that should be taken with a grain of salt) - the timer functionality that works in the radio would be usefull in the podcast section also - went to bed last night listeneing to a podcast - fell asleep within 5 minutes but podcast played for an hour. Its only a suggestion so dont stress and the widget is great as it is. cheers Nigel

@Velvis: It should work in the same manner as for myStreams (described here: http://wiki.chumby.com/mediawiki/index.php/Chumby_tricks#Streaming_SIRIUS_Satellite_Radio). I.e. you need that software (uSirius, Tversity etc. running on a computer in your network).

Seems like a great idea- but struggling with installation. Downloaded debug on to USB drive; rebooted the Chumby with USB drive installed; gave me a new ID to use on website. When I use either ID (the first, or the second after reboot), it gives me the same message "you have not installed the..." Any suggestions?

  • lin_chumby

    – March 27 2010

Meanwhile the reported laut.fm stream works (Thanks!). But now I cannot edit my stations on appspot, it claims "You have not yet installed the YouStreams-helper-script" - which I of course did yesterday. The three stations defined then play well.

    – March 27 2010

@9072997: At the moment, the chumby-ID must be in CAPITAL-LETTERS (I will change this soon, so that small chars are also accepted). Also, you MUST enter the "-" (Minus-sign) between chars and digits. If that does not help you, please log into the forum and send me an email (click on the Email-link under my Name in the left column) with your chumby-id.
