Click the widget to enable audio if the widget uses it. Note that modern browser security may prevent the widget from loading content from other web sites, however the widget should be able to load properly on the chumby devices. These previews are possible through the use of Ruffle ‐ note that Ruffle is still a work in progress, and not all Flash features are implemented, so some widgets may not perform optimally.

@hencye - To configure this widget, you will need to login into your chumby.com account. Go to the channel where your widget is saved to, click the "customize link". In the empty box, enter in a URL (web address) for a recipe you want to see on your chumby. For example, you can go to allrecipes.com and search for a recipe. Then copy the URL from the address bar (once you are on the actual webpage of the recipe you like). If you need additional assistance with this come see us in support (http://www.chumby.com/pages/help_support). -chumby support

I've never been able to get this app to work correctly. Not even for the example URLs that are given within the app itself. This was the main reason I bought my Chumby. Really disappointing.

Doesn't seem to work when I copy/paste a recipe url from Food Network. I'd really love to be able to Search for recipes somehow. Any apps that let you search for recipes?

wwendel, unfortunately allrecipes has no public api. but you certainly could write an app that scrapes the recipe box (or perhaps reverse engineer the allrecipes iphone/ipad app). and if you undertake search, the mobile site results should make for easy parsing (ex: http://mobile.allrecipes.com/Search/Recipes.aspx?WithTerm=fava&Page=1).

I just got an 7" Infocast for my wife, with the main attraction being access to allrecipies.com. The concept is very cool, but having to enter the url of the recipe you want defeats the whole purpose. I want the app to automatically log in and display "My Recipe Box" and then navigate to the selected category and recipe. Ideally, there would also be a search feature, but that would be secondary. Is this functionality available or in immediate works? If not, I may write my own app, or scrap the whole chumby thing. Please advise.

On the Recipe Fetch page, the directions state: Find a recipe on one of the supported websites (listed in the configuration), enter the URL of that recipe in the configuration, run widget, cook, eat. How does one get to the 'configuration' to set the URL on a Sony Dash to be used by Recipe Fetch?

As suggested in previous comments, I have started a forum topic about possible recipe formats. Please take some time to read and contribute your 0.02USD http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?pid=30238#p30238

hallyn - this widget scrapes various recipe sites (html), none of which have a standard format. i'm open to creating a separate widget that would read a standard format though. perhaps you could start a thread in the forum?

Any chance you could tell us what sort of format it expects, so we could put recipes on our own server?

    – June 25 2008

Sorry wrightlynx, that url will not work with this widget. You must provide the url for a *singular* recipe. Ex: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Watermelon-Margarita/Detail.aspx

Very useful widget for me, it would be great to add the ability to keep a list of favorite recipe URLs.
