I'm having trouble with all Facebook widgets, photos, news feed, and the other facebook one. Basically it asks me to to reauthorize the device daily now. What's going on?

Had the photos streaming from facebook but then about 2 weeks ago it stopped. I removed and reinstalled the app but when I try to register in through Facebook, nothing happens. What's going on?

Is this still working? I tried re-registering the mobile device but still only shows sample pictures.

for whatever reason my chumby has been acting fine again. It must've been something on facebook's end.

My Chumby updated the operating system recently and I think it has causes some issues with my facebook photos app. It appears to lose communication with Facebook at times, then later it somehow reconnects itself. Also, I have had to re-add my devices to Facebook a few times. Any thoughts? Is it something I'm doing on my end? I really like this app... thanks a bunch!

@Almus - After you successfully authenticate with your Facebook account you should be able to close out the Facebook window. Have you tried using another web browser just for test purposes. I just verified that this process is working fine on our end. If you need additional assistance feel free to come see us in support (http://www.chumby.com/pages/help_support). -chumby suppot

There is wrong with this app. It gets to the step to "extend permissions" opens up the popup to facebook (which reads "success") but then just reprompts you for the same "extend permissions"

I agree that I love this app but wish you could select only those friends whose photo albums you want to view. Maybe someday?

Will this app update and show new pictures that were just uploaded without having to exit and refresh?

To connect the app with your own facebook photos, at chumby.com go to My Chumby > My Channels and find the channel you put the app into. Then click the "customize" link. This will prompt you to authorize your Facebook account to connect with the app. You should make sure you are already logged into facebook in the browser you are using for best results. Also, disable any pop-up blockers in your browser for chumby.com

HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK!!!

I am using it and I love it but with an increasing number of friends it is a required but still missing feature to limit the view to some friends only. This could either be by setting up a list of wanted freinds or by selecting certain freind lists or a special chumy friend list to group friends I am interested in their pictures. PLEASE add this feature a.s.a.p.!!!

I agree with nilsa's comment from 1.5 years ago. I have lots of Facebook friends, but I don't care to see photos of all of them. It would be great to pick which ones to see pictures of. Also, it would be nice to have an option of seeing "Most Recent Photos" or "Randomly Pick Photos from Whenever". Currently it seems like it just shows recent photos so I see the same ones over and over. I would love for this app to go and just randomly grab ones from my friends from over the years. As it stands now, I see the same pictures over and over again of old co-workers I want to stay in touch with but don't want to look at. So unfortunately I'm gonna have to try and find another app in the meantime for photos, but this is a great start (even though it's 3+ years old).

I agree with jscktc that the problem seems to be with using the 'random' transition setting. All works fine with any other setting, but using 'random' results in just a series of black screens (however the comments for the pictures do show up).

Interesting, the issue I just described only seems to occur when using the "random" transition element. When I use another transition element (such as Cross Fade or Fade Out), the pictures show up without having to bring up the Options panel.

OK, newbie Chumby One owner, I'm able to connect and get pictures, and I see that many of the suggestions mentioned here have been implemented...one question though, when the pictures are supposed to be displayed along with the time and the caption, everything works but there's no picture (black/blank screen). If I open the "options" screen (clicking on the icon in the lower right corner) and immediately close it, the pictures now display. I have four bars on the network connection strength, and have updated to the very latest firmware/software/etc. I just downloaded the widget today, it should be the "latest". Thank you.

it would be nice if you could turn off or hide the "facebook" tab on the corner of the screen.

Great widget! Lots of options so you can see only what you want. Turns the Chumby into an automatically updating digital frame.

You should be able to get your friends' pictures, being able to only select your own pictures or pictures of you is not quite enough to make this perfect.

not only that but it ONLY shows friends profile pictures and is quite laggy. I even explicitly set it to show only my photos and it still doesn't work

It'd be nice if this widget didn't start at the same picture and show pictures in the same order every time it loaded.
