Sleep Noise Clock
by pete676 (community developer)popularity rank: 138
description: Sleep noise sounds with clock. Includes Brown, pink, and white noise. Control volume with chumby button. Put the app in its own channel and select it before you go to bed or set an event timer to have it waiting for you around bedtime. 12/15/11: Now includes night time crickets. More sounds to come. 1/1/12: Redesigned app for AS2 (hopefully will work on older chumby/android?) 1/19/12: Darker buttons per request. Don't know how to code the 12/24 hour switch. If anyone wants to help me with the code, I'd be happy to do it.
Click the widget to enable audio if the widget uses it. Note that modern browser security may prevent the widget from loading content from other web sites, however the widget should be able to load properly on the chumby devices. These previews are possible through the use of Ruffle ‐ note that Ruffle is still a work in progress, and not all Flash features are implemented, so some widgets may not perform optimally.

There is still a light glow reflecting in the bedroom ceiling. Is it possible for this to go completely black unless you touch the scree for the time. I'm looking for a completely black screen that toggles for the time.

I just checked and it's still working fine on original and chumby one. I also like the darker buttons.

Thought LKPixie said it was working on original chumby. Maybe a reboot or delete and re-add the channel?

Hi Pete, Yeah I'm getting the flashplayer red "f" icon like LKPixie. Maybe I'm missing an update??

This looks like a really cool app but alas I have an Insignia Infocast and it doesn't work. Oh well.

Really like this clock. I have a couple of suggestions. First, the white rings around the buttons are kind of bright. Maybe you could make them a lighter grey color? Second, is there any chance you can add 24 hour clock support? Just suggestions. Great work.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I just realized that I need to rewrite from scratch for older chumby devices as they don't use AS3 syntax. Since I am not a programmer and only just learning this Flash thing, this might take a while but I'll work on it. As for a seperate VOL slider, I haven't been able to figure out how to program that. My original app had one, but it didn't do anything. A workaround, which is how I use the chumby, is to set up a "wakeup" channel with an app that has music or whatever it is you want to wake up to. The non-working swfs have been removed to avoid confusion.

Would it be possible to put a volume control on the app itself? This would allow the sleep sounds to be quieter while the alarm could retain whatever volume you desired. Thank you so much for your work on this! God Bless!

Thanks for trying, but still not working on the original chumby. I get a small red "f" icon in the center of the screen.

Doesn't seem to work using the Android app either. Would have loved to have this on my Droid phone for when I'm travelling.

Doesn't work on original chumby. I sure wish it did. This looks really nice.
