Is this app no longer working? It seems the entire app library is filled with apps that no longer work or are not supported.

What happened???? This used to work on both of my Dash's (it's the reason - in part - I bought Dash #2).

I can't get this app to load on my Sony Dash. Is this a known issue?

  • chumzter

    – August 18 2011

This app only supports NYSE, Amex, and Nasdaq. We apologize for the inconvenience. -chumby support

How do you get the Dow Jones Industrial Average? I've tried every symbol I can think of.

All users inquiring about the use of ":" or any other international stock indexes, we regeret to inform you that this app will not be able to display these types of symbols. We apologize for the inconvenience. -chumby support

Has there been any progress with the ":" issue? This is VERY important. I am thinking of moving to a Sony dashboard as it provides access to international stocks.

@Arlof - we will submit a "feature request" to the in-house developer. @rmlevine808 - we will also submit a "feature request" for a timer function as well. For the time being I can offer you a workaround to get your specific stock quote to display for 30 seconds or more. Simple add multiple instances of the app in your desired channel. Input 1 stock quote per instance. Then you can customize the time for every instance. Thank you for your suggestions. -chumby support

If you allowed us to enter the ":" symbol we can should be able to use any market symbol in any market.... but you don't let us. Could this be fixed? Example. S:CA is Sherrit International on the TSX, but the input doesn't allow for a colon.

How do you get this app to display for more than 30 seconds? I've tried customizing it both on the website and on the Infocast, and not matter what length of time I set it for, it only displays for 30 seconds. And like everyone else, I'd like to see DJI too.

Cannot add indexes such as ^DJI for Down Jones Industrial Average, cannot add foreign exchange such as USDSGD=X. Really needs this functionality. Scrape Yahoo or Google Finance.

How can you display LSE quotes please?

  • joshman75

    – January 11 2010

Very good, but the ability to show symbols like ^gspc would be huge.

  • Utherlight

    – December 30 2009

I seem to be unable to add LSE shares to the widget. For instance a search for RBS seems to bring up many variants but none of them are correct one. Any ideas?

  • outofjungle

It would be nice to manually reorder the ticker symbol than sorting it alphabetically.

  • fulous

    – October 14 2009

does this work for FTSE and LSE symbols?

  • lkdellatorre

    – April 21 2009

Has anyone figured the magic trick to get the Dow to work?

  • yokimbo

    – April 20 2009

This widget will not accept DJI or INDU for the Dow. Nor does a search for Dow return the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The Dow should be included in the default stock ticker list. Please fix this. Until then, I'd consider the app broken.

The widget now searches ticker symbols first, so this should work for you if you enter C.

  • SaySomething

    – March 05 2009

I love the new interface, but now that I have to use the on-chumby config I can't get it to add the ticker for citigroup, "C". Everytime I try it thinks for a few seconds then restarts my chumby. My guess is it's getting to large a result set and running out of memory. Anyone have any advice?

This widget is so cool now, that I actually enjoy watching my life savings burn away into nothing! :D

I think it is because it has been completely redesigned and with new features and functionalities!!! Looks great! Works even better!

If this was created on 08/18/06, why does it show up as the newest widget???

  • Stein

    – February 17 2009

Pretty good! Would be nicer if add the trend curve (e.g. google finance) and currency exchange ratio (e.g. EURUSD, GBPUSD). Thanks!

  • kstrauser

    – October 18 2008

One request: could you add a setting to show the length of time that each quote is displayed? I don't really watch the ticker much, and a 2-second glance at the current quote would tell me everything I really want to know.

Blank screen, with full signal strength. Works sometimes, but usually not. What's the bottom line with this widget? Does it depend on whether an external server is up, and whether traffic is too high?

  • rebatch

Any chance for this widget to be updated to offer percentage of change, instead of fractions?

  • d2bednar

I am using INDU to get Dow Jones Industrial Average Index but I cannot figure out how to get NASDAQ. Anyone?

  • Beau.Turner

    – March 30 2008

Amgall, agree. Anyone else able to get the daily averages to show (ex. Dow Jones, Nasdaq, S&P)?

  • ivachen

seconded, please make index work =)

  • bandrews

    – February 17 2008

The updates to this widget are terrible! The size of the type is so small compared to the old one, making it impossible for me to see my quotes from a distance. And the Mac OS-style visual theme clashes with everything else on my Chumby. Please, please, PLEASE revert to the old widget... or at least make the image files from the old one available so someone from the community can rebuild the old widget.

  • Beau.Turner

    – February 16 2008

This widget is simple, clean and gives me what I need. The recent update to the interface makes this even better. Well done!

  • patmolloy

This widget does support other exchanges for example .L for London and .OL for OSLO both work for me.

  • cwestpha

Now I can wake up to my AAPL stock every day. heck with this I can just look at my chumby and see how macworld is doing without getting swallowed by Job's reality distortion field.

What does this use as the backend? It it possible to enter codes for stocks traded on other exchanges? (Australian ASX...)
