description: Send messages from a web application to your Chumby device. Default Web Application URL to send messages from: http://www.teelsys.com/chumby/chumbyaddmessage.aspx NOTES: - The default site does not need a UserName and Password. - Please read the blog entry at chumbydev.blogspot.com to learn more about this application as well as downloading the source code. (Coming Soon) - This is a rather large widget as I wanted to include fonts for international support. This widget can currently display text from several countries but if the size becomes an issue I may need to remove or reduce the embedded fonts. Updated: 31 Aug 2011
Click the widget to enable audio if the widget uses it. Note that modern browser security may prevent the widget from loading content from other web sites, however the widget should be able to load properly on the chumby devices. These previews are possible through the use of Ruffle ‐ note that Ruffle is still a work in progress, and not all Flash features are implemented, so some widgets may not perform optimally.

I now have a Chumby 8 and was able to test the widget. It works fine on the 8" devices. When I originally uploaded the widget I excluded the 8" devices as I had no way to test them. Please try again. Thanks, Rich

this application was designed for the classic chumby, chumby one devices, Insignia Infocast, and Android. I do not have a 8" device to test so I only specified the smaller screen devices when I added this application. I assume that the larger devices still require you to add widgets through chumby.com. When adding widgets make certain that you select your device from the device drop-down list near the top of the screen. By changing the device from all to your specific device, you will be certain that the widgets listed will run on your device. I double-checked and if you select Insignia 8 from the devices list, the TxtMsg widget will not be displayed. I will look into how I can test applications for the larger devices without owning one. If I can do testing for these devices, I will modify the widget so it can run on all chumby devices. Thank you for your interest and comment. Rich
