I'm also stuck on 41 degrees and overcast... I'd hate to remove this from my channel.

I've seen a couple of updates recently, but the temperature is still stuck at 25 degrees and partly cloudy for me. If you need any help fixing the app, I would be glad to help. I don't know anything about the flash side of things, but I'm pretty good with weather APIs and servers.

Hi McConnell- Making any progress with the app? I join the others who say this is my favorite app of all, and really miss it. I tried re-installing it because I noted the update on 2/6, but stuck at 47 degrees? I still keep the app running, and got my hopes up when I saw Valentine heart-shaped clouds today. Well, thanks for the years of enjoyment your app has provided. Hope you can get it back working eventually.

Hey everybody, sorry this widget is having problems. This takes its data from NOAA, let me send out a few emails and see if I can't get it back on track. Thanks for the patience and the kind words.

Same problem here. I wish it was actually 47 and raining in Chicago right now, but it's about 18 and snowing.

  • timtech

    – January 19 2012

Ooops, I meant it's showing 47F and raining. Weather.com says that it's 4F right now. I have tried many different local zip codes and nothing seems to change that.

  • timtech

    – January 19 2012

This is my favorite (and only app I use) and its been stuck on sunny and 47F for over a week. I wish it was 47 and sunny in Chicago right now :-)

Would it be possible to put an option of having black outline to the time/date fonts? It sometimes isn't easy to read. Otherwise, this is excellent app.

24 hour clock option would be very nice!

I want to rate this higher, but the weather forecast is inaccurate so often that it is useless to me. Could an update be posted to update the current conditions more often and more accurately?

  • AEKA2005

I am writing to report that after more than 6 months, I have finally seen my message. A blimp cruised across the screen broadcasting the message with marquee lights. This happened shortly after the software update earlier this week. On another note, the app is also doing weird things like periodically showing the time in reverse (like a mirror image). Is anyone else getting the time in reverse?

I've been using this widget for almost a year, and prior to that the classic, non-weather oriented one. This remains one of my top two favorite widgets. You really have a winner here.

I have problems with how slow Chumby can be at times but this app runs foreground 90% of the time. Good job at writing an app the way the Chumby should be. I only wish that the weather could be updated more frequently. I've had some instances where it stays the same temperature all day.

How do you remove the overlay? Making it blank seems to have it just list the temperature; how do you remove it completely>

Definitely my favorite widget! We had strong winds the other day, and watching the time numbers get blown around the chumby cracked me up. Love all the animations and cute little touches like this. Only thing that would make this perfect for me would be to also have the current day's hi/lo in small text somewhere on the overlay so I don't have to go to another widget to check it out when I'm getting ready for work in the morning. Thanks for all your work!

    My favorite widget.

  • bobviolence

    – January 20 2010

Love the widget, but one issue: I have it running with the time of "forever", and it never updates itself. I must tap the screen, then tap check for weather updates. Is there a way to make it get the weather on it's own?

  • kentwsmith

    – January 18 2010

Ok, went to NOAA - found 94027 for Atherton (really wanted 94025 for Menlo Park). Put that into the widget - still now weather update. Help!

This is the perfect Chumby widget. Useful information presented stylishly and with a sense of humor.

NOAA.gov does understand my address (78641, Leander TX) so perhaps it's a slow update issue. Thanks for the quick reply to my post!

  • McConnell

    – December 29 2009

XBOB, and anyone else having problems with the local zip, try plugging in your address at noaa.gov, this should give you the closest city. Hope this helps!

  • XBOB

    – December 29 2009

I get Nan for temp in the Austin, TX area (suburb). I'm looking forward to an update where I can choose the nearest city that the widget supports.

  • McConnell

Mike, that feature is there. To enable it, you'll need to configure the widget.

  • mikecoscia

    – November 18 2009

You you make the temp on the screen at all times, that would be perfect!

  • jubrand

    – October 22 2009

I love this widget, but it doesn't seem to update on its own. I always have to touch the screen and ask it to update. What interval should it be doing it at?

  • McConnell

    – October 15 2009

Sorry, I could have been more clear on that address. It's chumby(at)me.com ... me = me.

  • dpotter

    – October 15 2009

Sorry...I seem to not be getting your email correct...when you write chumby(at)me(dot)com, me=McConnell, yes? It keeps failing. I have been able to get it to work with a NY ZIP code, but not my own. 91001.

  • Bug1010

    Excellent work as always!

  • McConnell

    – September 30 2009

dpotter, at times the NOAA seems to be slow in loading. Has the widget ever worked for you? Shoot me an email - chumby (at) me (dot) com with your zip and I'd be happy to test it on my end.

  • dpotter

    – September 30 2009

It doesn't seem to be getting my weather...it always says Na...do ALL ZIP codes work?

  • McConnell

    – September 28 2009

dormouse, currently I am using a NOAA feed which only doles out US weather. International weather is a on my to do list, just not sure what the time line is. In the mean time, you can try plugging in a US zip (10001 for NY, NY example) to enjoy some of the weather based happenings. Glad to hear you enjoy the original widget!

  • dormouse

    – September 28 2009

hi, I loved the original sky happenings... I don't live in the US so even though I added this new sky happenings I think I can't see it in all its glory... is there a way to add location codes from, for example, the weather channel so that we can use it in other countries? Also, is it because I haven't set a location that the sky is a plain blue at about 7pm instead of the lovely way it appears in the original widget? Thanks so much McConnell for this, I have a channel with the original one as its only widget, it's my favourite clock.

  • McConnell

    – September 25 2009

@dpotter - Before the weather and proper backgrounds load it's always clear and midnight. The load screen let's everything settle into place before revealing current conditions and time of day. With that said, I'll see if I can minimize it.

  • dpotter

    – September 25 2009

This is great...but we don't need the "title screen" before it loads...

  • wayn3w

    – September 24 2009

This is excellent. In theory you could even do eclipses! I don't get tornados here in Massachusetts, so I'll never see the twister with this widget. However, I'm curious how you'll handle snow and blizzards!
