Looks like this one is dead or broken - Chumby has been showing the same message for a while now, and attempts to change it don't take. Here, it just shows the "reset" screen where all the letters are in order.

Looks like I'm the only one on this right now... my message hasn't been changed in the last couple of weeks....

Any chance this and the server code could be open-sourced?

@chumzter: Thanks for your reply back on Aug 15th, and I read it then. That answered my question immediately. I had no idea that Sony disallowed relatively innocuous apps such as these. The real reason for my follow-up at this late date though, is: As of today, the Sony Dash is allowing the running of this app! Hooray!

@electric_camel - certain apps like this one are not enabled to play on Sony Dashes. Sony has control over which apps are able to play on their device. I apologize for the inconvenience. -chumby support

Runs fine on my Chumby One, but my Sony Dash refuses to even load it. Is there a valid technical reason for this? Or perhaps it would be as simple as selecting "Any resolution" on the submit app page? I suppose I could just grab the .swf and resubmit it as a private app on my own account to see... really was just wondering if I was missing something silly here.

I reckon there's plenty of letters - limited letters are half the fun/challenge.

FYI, if you want your kids to be able to use this one, you can block the requests to www.ryanc.com. This widget appears to request the block locations and a message on the bottom of the screen from this website. If you block the request, it will not remember any messages or show other (unmoderated) messages. If you can ssh to your chumby, you can edit your /psp/hosts file and add a line like 127.0.0.1 www.ryanc.com Perhaps some day the author will share the code that runs on the server so folks can use it for local chumbies. This widget is not good for children, I would only have adults use it.

Great idea! It would be nice to make letter substitutions. Symbols and punctuation would be nice too. I think that the number of letters is right.
