Note that modern browser security may prevent the widget from loading content from other web sites, however the widget should be able to load properly on the chumby devices. These previews are possible through the use of Ruffle ‐ note that Ruffle is still a work in progress, and not all Flash features are implemented, so some widgets may not perform optimally.

Now the widget is functioning fine. Duane said in the forum, that the problem was due to that Amazon AWS was preventing the servers from workin properly: http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?pid=44495#p44495

I haven't experienced that problem here lately, but I have seen it a few times in the past. It basically means that the WWO widget is having trouble connecting to the Chumby and/or WWO servers. This is usually due to a local networking problem or temporary server downtime. The WWO widget only retains cached weather data for up to an hour, after which the green message you're seeing becomes visible. If this problem continues to occur, try to load the Chumby and WWO websites in your browser. If neither of them fails or is slow to load, I recommend you notify the Chumby developers via the forum.

Hi, There is something wrong now with this splendid widget! When I load the channel (Chumby-8) wich include among other widgets the "World Weather Online" then it will function for an our or less. After that the widget says "Retrieving config settings" If I reload my Chymby-8 this widget will again function for a while, but soon it again says "Retrieving config settings" and nothing will happen!

Thanks for the m/s update. This works great in my Chumby8.

Thank-you both for providing that suggestion. I've added the SI speed units to the configuration dialog. If your chumby (classic, one) hasn't rebooted in the last few days, I recommend you do so now to download the latest control panel software. You should certainly do this if the new WWO release fails to load!

Yes, the m/s as a possible wind speed selection would be great. That is also used everywhere in the Nordic countries.

Could you add m/s as the wind speed selection? That's what we use here in Northern Europe.

This widget was momentarily withdrawn for a few reasons. There were a couple of problems with the chumby software recently. The WWO website changed its location codes and search result format. I wanted to implement local caching of weather data. This widget now loads the saved information much faster.
