Terrific app! Works great with Foscam FI-8918W. Oddly, the pan/tilt controls work on my Infocast 3.5", but not the 8". In this example, I've setup the Foscam with a port of 8001. Of course, users would replace the the urls with values appropriate for their setup (typically port 80, etc). url: http://admin:[email protected]:8001/snapshot.cgi left: http://admin:[email protected]:8001/decoder_control.cgi?command=4&onestep=5 right: http://admin:[email protected]:8001/decoder_control.cgi?command=6&onestep=5 up: http://admin:[email protected]:8001/decoder_control.cgi?command=2&onestep=5 down: http://admin:[email protected]:8001/decoder_control.cgi?command=0&onestep=5

Nice, app. But found a bug. For some reason, this app appends a ?0.somefloatingpointnumber to the end of the URL, so it causes any URL that requires parameter passing on the URL to fail. This is probably also JOTAS' problem. One can get around this problem by appending a '#' at the end of the url (which does a proper GET on the camera), but this app still won't display - probably because it can't figure the mime type. Works great for cameras that you can do an http GET an image file.

Hi Lancer21, I have just logged into my sony dash account and can confirm that the syntax is correct. In my case it is: http://Admin:[email protected]:8085/snapshot.cgi Maybe you need to careful with upper and lower case letters in the username/ password. I hope this helps you. - James

I have both the Linksys WVC80N and the Grandstream GXV3615W. Below are the correct URL's for each camera. Replace [username], [password], [ipaddress] and [port] with the appropriate values for your network: Linksys WVC80N: http://[username]:[password]@[ipaddress]:[port]/img/snapshot.cgi Grandstream GXV3615W: Primary Stream http://[username]:[password]@[ipaddress]:[port]/snapshot/view0.jpg Secondary Stream http://[username]:[password]@[ipaddress]:[port]/snapshot/view4.jpg

Hi Sillyfutner, To tell you the truth, I don't know. Can you try it on your insignia? I guess I can go to Best Buy and give it a shot. I know it works on my Chumby Classic.

dpotter: You can just tap on the main cam and the PIP will toggle off so you don't actually have to configure the second one.

Hi siewhuenho: yes, the widget works on the chumby. It seems that for some reason it does not work with the chumby emulator. Josep

Josep: Recently I became aware that your "Dual Cam" widget for Chumby no longer seems to work in virtual mode online. I was using it to monitor two in-home security cameras, but all of a sudden my Chumby channel started skipping the Dual Cam widget as if it was not there. I was thinking it might be a problem with the Chumby website, but it has not cleared after over a week. So, for the time being, I have switched to a different WebCam widget, but would really prefer to use yours. Do you know why it stopped working all of a sudden? Did something change with Chumby that the widget was not compatible with? thanks. [email protected]

Hi ftown. I think a good source of open cams can be found in the chumby spy widget documentation. The developer for that widget searches for cams on the internet and verifies that they work using code written in phython.
