Click the widget to enable audio if the widget uses it. Note that modern browser security may prevent the widget from loading content from other web sites, however the widget should be able to load properly on the chumby devices. These previews are possible through the use of Ruffle ‐ note that Ruffle is still a work in progress, and not all Flash features are implemented, so some widgets may not perform optimally.

Any hope of getting this to work. I'm sure Oauth has killed this since it was uploaded.

Really?? This user/password stupidness was going on last Christmas when I got a Chumby and got so frustrated with this that I threw it in the closet. Nine months later and its not fixed???? Back to the closet I guess.

"invalid username or password", no, my dear Twitter app, that is the correct username and password. The problem here is that this app is completely broken and unusable.

Still have problem with the punctuation or tweeting at people or with even logging on with the same invalid username/password combination. I wonder if anyone is going to fix it or has any solutions or are we SOL?

Well, Twitter & Chumby appear to be back on speaking terms. Would have been nice if they told us there was a problem and that it had been fixed. I guess they might have more sales if they treated this like a business and less like a hobby...

This thing is broken and can apparently no longer properly authenticate to Twitter's servers, so don't waste your time with it.

  • kking85743

Here we go again. Lots of "unable to connect to server" type messages for last few days, but then it started working again, at least enough to get some data from public timeline. So I tried to log in... Now I get the "invalid user / password" over and over. This is both logging in on the chumby and on the Chumby website. Both fail with the same message. It was working just a few days ago, and my kids are really bummed. Trouble shooting tips? Anything I can do at my end, or is it (as it appears) to be an authentication change at Twitter that Chumby hasn't caught up with yet? Please report back here, and send e-mail if you can. There seem to be plenty of others with this problem...

Once again... The app is not working. I have been a 1st gen user of the Chumby for a long time, and I hope this not a signal of the end of development and support of the product or the apps. Please resolve this issue quickly, the Holidays are here and I was going to gift a few Chumbys, but I am now forced to reconsider, as we are power Twitter users.

UNABLE TO CONTACT TWITTER SERVER...AGAIN. Folks, how hard can it be to keep a simple app like this RUNNING FOR MORE THAN A WEEK AT A TIME? Gad. Somebody must be asleep at the wheel at Chumby, they expect to sell these things and they can't keep probably the #2 US app running from day to day?

I'm having the same problem as sei.one, on both a Chumby One and a Sony Dash. Both devices give a Sign-in screen saying to press SELECT to sign in to Twitter. Pressing everywhere on the widget does no good nor does customizing it from the web. Can you repost the previous version for us while you debug this one?

    – September 29 2011

I have a Chumby Classic, and ever since the 9/28/11 update, I only get an sign-in screen. It says to sign in and press SELECT to sign in to your Twitter account. I tried rebooting the Chumby, signing in again through the web, and re-adding the widget.

@feedle - I do notice some layout issues that we are going to take a look at, but I am not experiencing any crashes with this app (post SW update). When the app crashes, does it lock up your device? Have you tried power cylcing your Dash? -chumby support

I'm trying to build an academic project with chumby and twitter. Can you suggest me a reference to implement the authentication with oAuth and ActionScript 2.0? (Considering that it seems your application is currently working fine with twitter).

this widget just won't work for me. it does not accept my user/pass pair. ;-( i always get "Invalid Username Password" when setting up the widget.

  • theprawn

    – December 30 2008

The widget shows only the display name of a user, not their user name -- there doesn't seem to be any way to get their name to make sending an @reply intuitive. Showing their user name when zooming in on a tweet and/or having the @username inserted when clicking "send tweet" while viewing a specific tweet would make it a lot easier to interact with Twitter via Chumby.

  • sei.one

    – December 24 2008

The twitter widget is gone today. I see it on the Chumby, but it gets totally skipped over, and I when I try to select it on the control panel, the twitter widget does not load; the following widget appears.

Hi, does it work with a keyboard? When I plug one in, the cursor keys work and sometimes whole words are accepted. But most of the time, nothing happens... Do I need a special USB-keyboard? Is it not able to use a keyboard?
