What about the idea to send the message to other chums? Would love that.

How about a more up to date one with a white board? I also like the idea of an older clock for the chalk board one. How about an apple for the teacher, type?

Adrian - it doesn't. At the moment the only way to have it keep a message is to 'pin' it, or have it in a channel on it's own.

Does it save messages?

per note below... all it would take is an extra field under "Customize" to enter a short message and maybe select a chalk color.

I want to be able to write to it from "My Chumby Dashboard". Then I can write notes to my family in our living room while on the road. I don't think any other widget does that now. You could be the first to do this. Way cool for us travelers.

Very good idea.

With the scheduled changes, this could be the perfect widget! My only comment is that the look of the clock in incongruous with the chalk board. I'd almost rather see a small school style analogue clock.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Next version will include coloured chalks and also use shared objects to save the current 'doodle', making that doodle 'permanent' until *you* clear it, or you power off your Chumby (thanks Michael for the suggestion). *Thinking* about having a 'type or scribble' option... Thoughts anyone...? More feature requests welcome.
